The judgment that shaped it walks. Gateway Architect™ captures that reasoning at decision time and surfaces it when the next team, or the next program, needs it.

Early vertical

The platform is live and shipping: Gateway Architect is at Stage 3 as of v1.4, July 2, 2026. The Defense build is earlier. The compliance overlay, the deployment posture, and the priorities that come with them are being shaped now with our first design partners. This page is a starting point, not a finished pitch. If it describes your programs, we want your input on what it should become.

Every rotation is a memory loss event

Clearance rotation empties the room of reasoning. Engineering judgment on a cleared program already turns over on a short cycle, and clearance renewals, program pivots, and personnel rotations move people off work on a cadence that has nothing to do with how long the reasoning stays relevant. The replacement inherits the code and the controls. The why behind them is rarely in the handoff.

Every recompete resets the institutional memory. When a follow-on or a recompete moves a program to a new team, the architecture transfers and the reasoning behind it usually does not. New performer, same system, no rationale. The next team relearns the constraints the last team already paid to discover.

AI accelerates code production, not reasoning capture. AI coding tools are entering programs on aggressive timelines and compressing the decision cycle from hours to minutes. The capture cycle has not kept up. The broader evidence is in the whitepaper; the point for a Defense program is that speed without capture turns every sprint into faster accumulation of undocumented decisions.

What Gateway Architect gives Defense engineering programs

An Organizational Memory Platform captures decisions as they are made, records what happened when they were implemented, and surfaces the relevant history at the moment the next decision is formed. On a program that outlives the people who staff it, that is continuity of engineering judgment across every rotation and every award.

Reasoning captured at decision time, so it survives the handoff. Each decision records its rationale, the alternatives considered, and the predicted consequences, with the approvers and timestamps, at the moment the choice is made. When the team turns over, the incoming engineers inherit the reasoning, not just the repository.

A typed decision graph that makes dependencies explicit. Decisions are wired together with typed relationships, so a design choice links to what it requires, what it constrains, and what it superseded. Contradictions surface structurally rather than resurfacing as a production incident three performers later.

Recall inside the tools your engineers already use. As of v1.4 (shipped July 2, 2026), recall is exposed as a REST Architecture Context API and a Model Context Protocol server, so AI coding tools ground their suggestions in what the program has already decided. Reasoning surfaces at the moment a new decision is formed, not after it has shipped.

Controlled visibility across programs. For a prime running multiple programs, cross-project decision sharing runs under a zero-trust, owner-granted model: one program sees another’s decisions only when the owner grants an explicit, revocable, audit-tracked share. Cross-organization sharing is prohibited at the data layer.

Ranking that reflects what held up in the field. When the platform returns the decisions most relevant to current work, it orders them by outcome as well as similarity: validated decisions rank higher, abandoned or revised ones rank lower. Candidate selection is still by similarity; the outcome signal adjusts the ranking. Ordering retrieval by outcome, rather than only re-ranking it, is the next rung on the ladder and is not yet shipped.

The data isolation guarantee

An Organizational Memory Platform is, by definition, an instrument of organizational learning. Not industry learning. Not vendor learning. Your organization, alone, owns what its memory contains. Three commitments make this real, stated here in the strongest terms we can stand behind today.

1. No cross-customer data pooling, ever. Captured decisions, outcomes, patterns, and surfaced recommendations are detected and processed exclusively within the customer’s tenant boundary. No anonymized aggregation across customers. No industry benchmarks built from customer data. No opt-in pooling. Each customer’s BrainDrop™ corpus is sealed within their tenant. Where peer comparison is useful, we draw from public open-source projects, public ADR archives, academic research, and published post-mortems. The public corpus travels in. Customer decisions never travel out.

2. The proprietary pattern-clustering engine is self-hosted. BrainDrop (US provisional patent 63/916,445) is the source of the compounding-memory moat. It runs on infrastructure we operate directly. The model is trained on public-corpus and internal data only, never on customer data. Customer reasoning processed through BrainDrop never reaches third-party model infrastructure.

3. Generation and embeddings use commercial APIs under strict terms. For architectural-decision drafting and code generation, we use a commercial enterprise model API. For semantic embeddings, we use a commercial enterprise embeddings API. Under both vendors’ standard enterprise API terms, customer data is never used to train their models. We have Zero Data Retention requests in active negotiation with both vendors and expect those agreements to be in place ahead of our Year 1 H1 Defense design partner program. Until ZDR signing, customer data passed to these APIs is retained up to 30 days for the vendors’ abuse-monitoring purposes only, then deleted. We do not retain copies, we do not aggregate, and we do not use either vendor’s data-sharing or fine-tuning programs.

This is the honest current state. Self-hosted where the moat lives. Standard-terms commercial APIs where industry-leading model quality lives. No customer data is used to train any model anywhere. Zero Data Retention is in flight. When ZDR is signed, this statement is updated to reflect that. When it is not, it continues to say so. Customers in regulated verticals who require contractual Zero Data Retention before signing will have it in place before they need it.

Compliance posture, stated honestly

Gateway Architect’s security architecture is designed against the frameworks that govern Defense engineering from the foundation, and certifications are timed to design-partner requirements. That means SOC 2 Type II designed for, a CMMC Level 2 architecture built in from the start, and a FedRAMP trajectory. BrainDrop is covered by US provisional patent 63/916,445.

We do not claim to be CMMC certified, FedRAMP authorized, or accredited for classified or air-gapped environments. Restricted-network and disconnected deployment are on the roadmap, not available today. We build the architecture to these frameworks now, and time the certifications to the design partners who require them.

Where Gateway Architect is today

An Organizational Memory Platform develops in eight stages, each structurally dependent on the one before it. Gateway Architect is at Stage 3, Associative Recall, as of v1.4, shipped July 2, 2026. Stage 1 (Encoding) and Stage 2 (Synaptic Structure) are shipped beneath it. Stage 4 (Consolidation) is partially seeded by the v1.4 outcome-weighted ranking; the rest of Stage 4, and Stages 5 through 8, are roadmap.
